Laboratory management system

LAB WODA system

LAB-WODA is a custom IT solution developed to support laboratory testing of water samples carried out by the Municipal Hygiene Laboratory (HKL) in the Laboratory Department (DL) of the Voivodeship Sanitary and Epidemiological Stations (WSSE) in Warsaw and Gorzów.

The system covers the following areas:

  • supporting pre-registration carried out by external samplers working with HKL WSSE;
  • recording samples accepted (registered) by the laboratory and supporting their registration;
  • collecting test results;
  • supporting the preparation of test reports;
  • managing access to information and the ability to perform individual steps of the testing process, e.g. determining a measurement result;
  • authorisation within each laboratory unit;
  • cooperation with the Electronic Document Management system for recording documentation (orders, reports);

The system is built in a technology that allows it to be used through a standard web browser. LAB-WODA can be used both on the institution’s internal network and by people working remotely or in the field, e.g. samplers.

LAB-WODA uses a client-server (thin client) architecture. Data is stored in a centralised SQL-compliant database. Besides centralising the data layer, LAB-WODA also centralises the application layer. The system is accessed with a standard web browser, e.g. IE or FF. Apart from many other administrative and usability benefits, this means no software has to be installed on users’ computers.

Access to the system is possible only after successful user verification.

LAB EPL system

LAB-EPL is a custom IT solution developed to support laboratory testing of samples by the Epidemiology Laboratory (EPL) in the Laboratory Department (DL) of the Voivodeship Sanitary and Epidemiological Station (WSSE) in Warsaw.

The system covers the following areas:

  • supporting pre-registration carried out by the District Sanitary and Epidemiological Stations working with EPL WSSE;
  • recording samples accepted (registered) by the laboratory and supporting their registration;
  • collecting test results;
  • supporting the preparation of test reports;
  • managing access to information and the ability to perform individual steps of the testing process, e.g. determining a measurement result;
  • authorisation within each laboratory unit;
  • cooperation with the Electronic Document Management system for recording documentation (orders, reports);
